Donate--Wells For Our Grandmothers

Wells For Our Grandmothers™ is an inspired vision to improve lives in the villages of Uru on Mt. Kilimanjaro. Each of the wells, reservoirs, distribution pipe paths and water access stations, will have an ancestral or inspirational name. In naming these water places as the ‘Grandmothers Well’ or the ‘Grandfathers Reservoir’ we honor not only those close to us, but we also honor the world’s people and our common bonds as global family. This includes our roles and relationships as mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, both personally and within the family of humanity.

As an immediate relief effort for clean water access in Uru, Tanzania, 25 well sites have been surveyed for potential drilling. Our first deep water wells are being funded by a grass roots approach of personal donations, to honor loved ones, foster personal and cultural understanding, and to strengthen global community.

Our first maximum yield water borehole, The Grandmother Well at Kimocholo, will provide water for 5,000+ people when The Unity Path pipe distribution is completed. The Uru people are providing ‘sweat equity’ by digging trenches for the pipeline to the reservoir, which they will clean & repair before water flows into it.

The water wells, reservoirs, pipe paths and access stations will also carry inspirational names including Unity, Hope, Love, Wisdom and Forgiveness.
